Overview of Tasmania’s Skilled Visa Nomination Pathways (2025–26)

Official Pathways:

1. 💼 Tasmanian Skilled Employment Pathway (TSE)

This pathway is centred entirely on your work experience in Tasmania and how relevant it is to your skills assessment.

Minimum Requirements

2. 🎓 Tasmanian Skilled Graduate Pathway (TSG)

This pathway recognises your commitment to Tasmania through study, with employment providing a major boost to your ranking.

🏆 Priority Ranking Attributes (Strongest to Weakest)

Candidates are ranked based on a points system. The more attributes you possess, the more competitive your application will be.

🥇 Gold Tier (Highest Priority)

  • TSE: Must have skill assessment and employed for at least 6 months in a health, allied health, or teaching occupation, earning at least $57,000 per year.
  • TSG: Employed for at least 3 months in a health, allied health, or teaching occupation, earning at least $57,000 per year.
  • TER: Must have skill assessment and employed for at least 3 months in a health, allied health, or teaching occupation, earning at least $57,000 per year.

🥈 Green Tier

  • TSE:
    • Employed for 24+ months in a role related to your skills assessment and earning at least $28.85/h per year (500 points).
    • Employed for 18-24 months in a role related to your skills assessment and earning at least $28.85/h (300 points).
  • TSG:
    • Employed for 18+ months in a role related to your skills assessment and earning at least $28.85/h per year (500 points).
    • Employed for 9-18 months in a role related to your skills assessment and earning at least $28.85/h (300 points).
    • Completed a PhD in Tasmania (250 points).
  • TER:
    • Employed for 18+ months in a role related to your skills assessment (500 points).
    • Employed for 9 to 18 months in a role related to your skills assessment (300 points).

🥉 Orange-Plus Tier

  • TSE:
    • Earning a salary of at least $52.10/h for 12+ weeks (40 points).
    • Employed for 18+ months in a role not directly related to your skills assessment and earning at least $28.85/h (35 points, 491 only).
    • Australian employment for 2+ years in the same industry but not directly related to your skills assessment, earning at least $57,000 per year (30 points).
    • Employed for 12-18 months in a role related to your skills assessment, and earning at least $28.85/h (30 points).
  • TSG:
    • Employed for 9+ months in a role directly related to your skills assessment or Tasmanian study and earning at least $28.85/h (45 points, 50 points(190)).
    • Earning a salary of at least $52.10/h for 12+ weeks (40 points, 45 points(190)).
    • Employed for 3-9 months in a role directly related to your skills assessment or Tasmanian study and earning at least $28.85/h (30 points, 35 points(190)) .
    • Received a graduate job offer related to your Tasmanian study (30 points, 35 points(190)).
  • TER:
    • Earning a salary of at least $52.10/h for 12+ weeks (45 points).
    • Business-related points for 190.
